EXCITING NEWS!!!

Hi!

I know, you're stunned that I'm posting twice in the same day!

Things have changed, definitely for the better!

On Friday I had a meeting with the Migration Health Manager from the International Organization for Migration. They want me to come and work with them as their Counter Trafficking Program Assistant! I'm so excited about this work and just thrilled at the fact that I was in the right place at the right time to take the opportunity.

Things are not exactly set in stone yet. I have to meet some Peace Corps criteria, since the position is a Peace Corps Extension, which shouldn't be a problem. When everything is final, I'll be living in Kabulonga, WITH BLESSED!!! (FINALLY!!!) So we're still working out details. All you need to really know for now is that things are great!!! My parents have more details, so get in touch with them until I can update you further.

Hugs hugs hugs!!!

Congratulations on your new appointment. I pray that all goes well.
My reason for writing is because I received a letter from a person who claims to be a Pastor Chanda Jackson from Nchelenge Luapula Zambia in Central Africa who is seeking financial and material support for 20 orphans. The letter is very vague and we have no idea how this person came across our name and address.
Do you know anything about this person. We generally support through recognised agencies and are suspicious of unsolicited letters from people places and situations we know nothing about.
I google the place and your blog came up. Forgive me for using your blog like this. I would like to know if this is genuine or a scam.
Thanks
Vivian

Dear Vivian,

I do not know a Pastor Chanda Jackson, but then, I could never claim to know everyone or every project that is happening in Nchelenge. If you have any further details (ie what church he is with, etc.) I may be able to find out more for you. Sounds like a bizarre situation for sure, but I wouldn't discount it just yet. Send me a few more details and I'll see if I can do some background work for you.

Best,
LIBBY

Thanks for your reply Libby

I have no other information which was part of my problem. It reads like a biblical epistle and as I said is very vague as to who and what it relates to. This letter came out of nowhere and doesn't give any church affiliation of other clues for identifying or clarifying the validity of it apart from the return address ( PO box 740009 Nchelenge 740000 Luapula Zambia). I do not want to cause you problems if there is some scam happening. But if you did find out something I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks again for your reply.
God's blessing and protection be with you in all you do.
Vivian

Dear Libby, I also am interested in Pastor Chanda Jackson; that is exactly how I got to your site. We are from a place called Harvestime books in TN. We have recently sent a box of religious books in answer to his letter as we normally do to all requests that appear to be wanting evangelistic materials. he enclosed a picture of the 20 orphans & they appeared to be in need. If you have found something out about him & his plans for the children, I would appreciate it if you could email me asap. I shared the letter & picture with a coworker who shared it with a Dr. who gave a donation so that we could buy clothes, toothbrushes, felt sets, etc. We are even going tonight to our comunity svcs ctr. to pick out things. We are also in a hurry since the rates of m-bags is going up Jan 18. Thank-you for your time. Robin

Hi We in UK have been in touch with this guy since about 2000
But we have not been able to establish his Church, or any location only a P Box Number
He claims to have been evangelising on an island on Lake Mweru where in the autumn of 2011 he had 100's of converts, Having helped fund a container shipment to him in 2011 for a Youth Training Centre from a supplier in UK amounting to thousands of pounds we have also supplied funding for 10 orpjans education, and now he wants £2000 to supply Bibles to converts. Earlier various people over here posted 48 modern English Bibles to him
He always writes in a very neat hand but never on printed note paper. He did supply an email address but it does not work well on grounds of insufficient electricy supply. He sent a photo of the 10 orphans in 2010

If this is a scam he could obvously purloin the money sent, but what woild he want NBibles and literature for or bicycles wheelchairs, computers, training equipment etc for
He clains some of the children go to Nchelenge Secondary School but we cannot locate their address. We have suspnded sending anthing more. Ifhe is a crookhe needs locating, arresting and put inprison. We hope he is who he claims to be.
Kind regards
JACK TED
